Introducing Buster!

You may have noticed I have been a bit slack on posting this week. You can blame this wee chappy:

Big yawn!

This is Buster. I picked him up from the SPCA last Friday, he's mostly staffy, 6 or 7 months old, 15 kg, nearly all brindle, and we love him to bits.

But having a puppy in residence is dangerous for hobbies - this is what happened to some beautiful yarn my crafty colleague gave me:

Yarn, everywhere. Notice abandoned tug toy and stick.
He has also chewed up two spools of thread and my cellphone. Luckily it' still works and is a dated phone, not a 'smart' one. He shows no interest for my shoes, thank goodness, but has a weird fascination with my left foot.

Buster was a neglected SPCA rescue, and spent 3 months in foster and waiting at the SPCA for us. I love having a dog in the house, and plan on eventually getting him sent off to be trained as a hearing dog - but right now we are spending loads of time building a bond with him, and I'm covering his bed with some snuggly polar fleece, as well as walkies, games, and snuggles.

Tomorrow's a big day though: it's going to be a sewing day - we'll see how that goes with a puppy!

  1. oh my goodness he's soo gorgeous! How could anyone abandon a puppy I really just don't get it. He looks like he's very happy in his new home already! Well, good luck with the sewing though I can imagine Buster is a pretty welcome distraction!

  2. Precious puppy and precious times. Makes me fondly remember when my Little Bit was a puppy. She got locked out of my bedroom. She came downstairs and chewed at the end of a rocking chair. When I came down, there was a little pile of saw dust right underneath the rocker. How could I get upset when all she wanted was to be with me? I had thought that I would sand it and smooth it out, but it's still there and brings back lovely memories of when she was a puppy every time I see it. Wishing you years and years of happiness.

  3. What a cutie!! Sewing certainly does take a hit with a puppy in the house but, it's totally worth it :)
